Stolen Girlfriends Club was founded in New Zealand in 2005 as an experimental art project, it has evolved into a globally recognized jewellery and fashion brand. Inspired by art, underground culture and modern romance, these collections transform symbolic forms into sculptural pieces crafted from precious metals and genuine gemstones.
The collection was created by director Marc Moore- with the brand name coming from his first art show- inspired by the people we meet who are bright lights in dark moments- the ones we wish we could save or steal away.
Forged in the collision of modern Rock ‘n’ Roll and Punk Romanticism, the brand has since evolved from experimental art into a full line of ready-to-wear pieces, blurring the lines of fine jewellery, street fashion and leather goods. Stolen Girlfriends Club’s designs are a juxtaposition of opposing subcultures and inspirations.
The purpose of SGC is clear; create pieces that amplify self-confidence and individuality. Create artifacts - not landfill; champion creativity, expression and love. It’s worn internationally by Dua Lipa, Charli XCX, Miley Cyrus, The Weeknd, Rita Ora and other like-minded individuals- such as the team here at WJ Shaw Jewellers along with some of our fabulous customers!
The brand made its official UK trade debut in March 2025 at the Retail Jeweller Festival where Heather & Julia spotted it, and we quickly became one of the first stockists in the UK. Our workshop was impressed with the unique designs and quality manufacturing of pieces. Stolen's signature Love Claw settings are a bolder take on traditional stone-set jewellery and have proved popular with customers and staff alike over the past year.
